Understanding Virtual Power Plants

Our client wanted to better understand views and attitudes toward Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) with a view to creating a new proposition.

A total of 20 x 45 minute in-depth Discovery interviews took place to understand experiences with solar and battery technology, including thoughts on VPPs, experiences, etc.

The research uncovered the motivators behind VPPs, uncovered particular lead-points for building awareness and driving conversion. The work uncovered three broad segments with unique motivators underlying their orientation toward solar, batteries and VPPs, helping to guide where and how to engage these segments to drive uptake. The research created a suite of opportunities to inform and develop a best-in-class VPP to maximise uptake.
